Product Policy
Prohibited and Restricted Products Policy
Products that cannot be listed and categories requiring Vicsmall approval.
This policy forms part of the Vicsmall Vendor Terms and Agreement. Where this policy conflicts with a separately signed commercial agreement, the signed agreement applies to the extent of the conflict.
1. Purpose and Scope
This policy applies to every Product, listing, image, video, reel, bundle, service and offer published or promoted by a Vendor on Vicsmall.
A Product may be removed even if it is not expressly listed below where it presents a legal, safety, payment, courier or reputational risk.
Capitalised terms not defined in this policy have the meanings given in the Vicsmall Vendor Terms and Agreement.
2. General Rule
A Vendor must not list, advertise, sell, fulfil or promote an unlawful Product or a Product for which the Vendor lacks a required licence, registration, permit, approval, test certificate, import document or authority.
The Vendor must not disguise a prohibited Product through another category, coded language, separated components, misleading images, reels, private messages or off-platform payment instructions.
3. Prohibited Products
- Narcotics, unlawful controlled substances and related illegal drug paraphernalia.
- Counterfeit, replica or unauthorised branded Products and goods infringing intellectual-property rights.
- Stolen goods, unlawfully obtained property and Products with removed or altered identification numbers.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives and illegal weapons.
- Recalled, dangerously defective, contaminated, adulterated or expired Products.
- Expired food, cosmetics, health Products and Products with altered expiry information.
- Government identity documents, forged certificates, counterfeit currency and fraudulent financial instruments.
- Pirated software, media, access credentials and unlawfully copied digital material.
- Obscene or unlawful sexual material and content prohibited by law.
- Human remains, body parts and unlawful human biological material.
- Endangered wildlife, unlawfully traded animals and prohibited wildlife Products.
- Illegal interception, surveillance, tracking or signal-jamming devices.
- Stolen cards, bank credentials, account access or payment instruments.
- Products promoting or materially supporting terrorism or unlawful violent organisations.
- Hazardous, toxic, radioactive or controlled substances that cannot lawfully be sold or transported.
- Goods prohibited for import, export, sale or distribution by the Nigeria Customs Service or another competent authority.
- Any Product whose sale, advertisement, possession, distribution or delivery would breach Applicable Law.
4. Restricted or Approval-Only Categories

5. Category-Specific Safety Duties
- Food Vendors must disclose ingredients, allergens, storage and expiry information.
- Beauty Vendors must sell genuine Products and avoid unapproved medical claims.
- Electronics Vendors must state voltage, compatibility, condition, battery health and warranty information.
- Baby and toy Vendors must provide age and safety warnings and must not list recalled Products.
- Automotive Vendors must give accurate fitment, part-number and safety information.
- Service Vendors must state licences, scope, cancellation terms and material limitations.
6. Verification and Evidence
Vicsmall may request invoices, supply-chain documents, regulatory registration numbers, test reports, certificates, import records, photographs, serial numbers, samples, premises inspection or other evidence.
Approval may be refused or withdrawn if evidence is missing, expired, inconsistent or unsatisfactory.
7. Removal, Recall and Enforcement
Vicsmall may reject, hide, remove, quarantine or recall a Product at any stage of the Order Lifecycle, including before listing, after Order placement, during fulfilment, after dispatch or after delivery.
Where an affected Order exists, Vicsmall may stop fulfilment, reassign a lawful substitute Order only with Buyer approval, cancel the Order, issue a Refund, hold funds, reverse settlement, notify affected Buyers, request evidence, report to a regulator or law-enforcement agency, and suspend or terminate the Vendor.
A Product-specific or Vendor-specific Commission Override does not permit the sale of a prohibited Product and does not reduce the Vendor's compliance responsibility.
8. Duty to Report
A Vendor must notify Vicsmall immediately and no later than 24 hours after learning that a Product is recalled, unsafe, contaminated, counterfeit, wrongly certified, connected to serious injury or subject to a regulatory investigation.
